Elva Acree

Elva Bernice Acree, 71, of Denton, MD, passed away on March 17,2023 in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina. 

Elva was born on April 27, 1952 to the late Bernard Jacobs and Marian “Petie” Acree in Easton,MD.

She graduated from North Caroline High School , Class of 1970 , in Ridgely,MD. 

During her life Elva worked many different jobs. She worked at Black and Decker for 25 years, all the way up until the factory closed. She started to work at Benedictine School in 2004 where she enjoyed caring for many of her clients with special needs, Elva continued to work there until 2018.

She lived in Caroline County for many many years ,  enjoying time with her daughter Jeanetta, they loved going on shopping trips, out to eat and reading books together.  In July 2021 she decided to make a move to North Carolina to be closer to her son Frank, where they enjoyed Monday night wrestling ,card games , and she loved watching him play softball. 

Elva enjoyed life, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was always down for a good time and a good laugh. Elva loved hanging with her girls the most Judy, Rose, Beverly, Florence and Marietta.  When she wasn’t working she enjoyed watching Tennis and cooking a good meal.

Elva preceded in death by her parents and son Corey Montrell Thomas.

Elva leaves to cherish her memories daughter Jeanetta Acree (Keith) Ridgely, Franklin Acree (Rosa) Sneads Ferry, NC, grandson De’Andre Acree Hagerstown, MD, granddaughters Deja 

Acree District Heights, MD, Danielle Acree and Caitlyn Acree Wake Forest, NC, Great-grand sons 

Trenton Acree St. Michaels, De’jour Acree Federalsburg, MD and Julian Acree Easton, MD as well as many close friends and family members. a very special cousin Sandy Ringgold, as well as many close friends and family members. Elva had MANY additional children and grandchildren in her life, and they meant the world to her.
