Obituary
Our beloved one, Ellice F. Roberts was summoned to eternal rest on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Compass Regional Hospice, Centreville, Maryland.
She was born on June 4, 1931, in Easton, Maryland to the late Russell (Sr.) and Blanche Jenkins.
Ellice was a graduate of Moton High School. After high school, she worked as a domestic engineer and was a childcare provider for our family. On October 17, 1954, Ellice was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Edward E. Roberts. From their union, one daughter was born, Renee Y. Pierce.
Ellice joined Union Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Lindsay Crudup in the late 1930’s. At the age of eight, she and her cousin, Vivian began singing on the church choir. Not only did Ellice sing on the church choir but various choirs within the church for eighty-two years. She was the soloist on the song “Unity.” Ellice and Edward were faithful members of Union. They served on the Deacon Board and were the custodians of Union for many years.
Ellice's enjoyment was watching television (T.D. Jakes, home improvement shows, game shows, etc.), ironing, solving crossword puzzles, crocheting afghans for family and friends, shopping for makeup and most of all, making people laugh. Ellice was loved by all and is already deeply missed.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, William Jenkins, Robert Jenkins, and Jonathan Jenkins; one sister, Bonita Bell, a sister-in-law, Pauline Jenkins, and many cousins with whom she was raised.
Ellice leaves to cherish fond memories to her daughter, Renee Pierce (James); one granddaughter, Krystle Pierce; two great granddaughters, Brooklyn Pierce and Trinity Johnson, all of Easton; two brothers, Russell (Jr.) Jenkins (Dorothy) and James Jenkins (Nancy) both of Easton; two sisters, Nadia Caldwell of Denton and Sharon Truxon (Rodney) of Easton; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Jenkins and Margaret Fountain both of Easton; two godchildren, Anna Sampson of Bowie and William Cephus of Baltimore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
