Ebony Cherese Harris, known to many as Muffin, departed this life on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Talbot Hospice, in Easton, MD., with her mother by her bedside.
She was born in Memorial Hospital in Easton, MD on February 26, 1980, to Phyllis R Sampson Harris and Randy E. Harris.
Ebony graduated with honors from North Dorchester High School, class of 1998. She attended Goldey Beacom College, and graduated in 2002, with her bachelor’s degree in accounting. In 2022, Ebony graduated from Strayer University, with a Master of Science in Accounting with a concentration in Taxation.
Ebony was employed at Mulholland Harper Company as a bookkeeper as well as an accountant. Her last employer was H&R Block, where she worked as a Tax Advisor for more than 15 years.
She received salvation around age 16, under the leadership of Elder Clarence Wallace, St. Luke COGIC, Federalsburg, MD. As she continued to grow in Christ, she held the office of treasurer, under the leadership of Bishop Calvin Abbott, Lighthouse Church of God, East New Market, MD. In June 2018, she joined Greater New Hope Church and Ministries, Preston, MD. Under the leadership of Bishop Dane A. Coleman. Shortly after joining GNHCM, she was ready to serve, wherever she was needed. She was a part of the Ushers ministry and she also assisted with cleaning the sanctuary. She loved working behind the scenes donating items as well as her time, preparing bags for the Lambs of God Ministry, donating items for the back-to-school giveaways, the Easter Extravaganza, and the hallelujah Halloween party. Ebony was also an active participant in the community wellness program known as Fitness in Action (FIA). She was the leader of the Walk In The Park team, in Preston, MD until her illness.
Ebony was preceded in death by her father the late Randy E. Harris.
She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Phyllis Harris, Hurlock, MD, one sister Carla Daggs, Salisbury, MD, and two brothers Ralph Baltimore (Laletta) Newport News, VA, and Sean Canada, East Orange, NJ. Four aunts Peggy Cooper, Raleigh, NC, Doreen Hutchinson, Newark, NJ, Joan Murray (Alexander), Federalsburg, MD & Josie Craft, Federalsburg, MD. One uncle Melvin Harris, Los Vegas, Nevada. Three nephews Donovan & Devin Lake, Manuel Kessen. Two godchildren Da’Vion and Kiera Dockins. Two best friends Nikki Dockins and Tiana Andrews and a host of family and friends.
