Earl Sherwood Obituary
The family will host a Memorial Service for
Earl Howard Sherwood, 82, went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2026, at Talbot Hospice. Earl was born on June 14, 1943, in Talbot County, MD, to the late Oliver Malikai Sherwood, Sr. and Florence Virginia Warner-Sherwood. He was a member of St. Matthews U.M. Church in Longwoods, MD.
At an early age, he moved to Gary, Indiana, to be with his brothers. While there, he met his true love, Louis Sherwood, whom he married. They adopted and raised Tracy Earl Sherwood, Sr., who passed away earlier.
Earl’s passion led him to drive trucks for a number of companies, including Barry T. Fox of Easton, MD. He also drove for a steel company in Chicago, IL. He mainly drove the Midwest and East Coast. His C.B. handle was “Coat Hanger.” Earl also enjoyed coming back home during the summer to spend time with his family. He enjoyed fishing and cutting grass, as well.
He leaves to mourn his daughter, Casandra Brummell-Thomas (Patrick) of Woodbridge, VA.; a grandson, Tracey Sherwood, Jr.; a sister, Florence L. Sherwood of Easton, MD; brothers Stanley, Jacob (Mary Ann), Norman (Lola), all of Gary, Indiana; special nieces, Cynthia and Ellen; a nephew, Quentin; and his grass cutting partner, John Guy; along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be truly missed by one and all.
