David Augustus Caven Obituary
Our beloved DAVID A. CAVEN, affectionately known as "Pop-pop," was born on May 31, 1940 in St. Mary, Jamaica to Gladys Luke. Although he was Gladys’ second born overall, in order of birth David preceded his twin sister, Evelyn. Prior to migrating to America in the early 1970s, David was a Roller Man, otherwise known as a construction worker in Jamaica. Upon his arrival to America, he worked various jobs. He married Shirley Gaven on February 1, 1978. Before his retirement, David worked at Coldwater Seafood Corporation in Cambridge, MD. He enjoyed spending time with his family and had a deep passion for gardening and cooking. He spent countless hours on his farm and was a true animal lover. And he never passed up an opportunity to unwind and watch Jonny Quest. David was filled with unbelievable strength, humility, and kindness. He loved to laugh and was known for his cheerful personality. He was truly a beacon of light and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Evelyn and stepson, Ricky. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, his brothers. Lloyd and Eli, his twin daughters and their spouses, Marlyn (Ransford) and Carlene (Jeffrey); grandchildren, David, Daman, Petula, Kimberly, Sheena, Princeton, Sheree, Maranda, Ransford Jr., Gabriel, and Donshirl; great-grandchildren, Damian, Dominique, Ziyah, Samara, Sa’moi, Scarlet, Zyasia, Steven Jr., Amirah, Sebastian, Sa’Ny, Sa’Vaya, Antonio Jr., and Ethan; as well as his nieces and nephews
