Darlene Tracie Wilson Burgess, known to many as Tracie, departed this life on November 4, 2024 at Talbot Hospice with her loving father by her side. She was born March 30, 1975 in Easton, MD to Geraldine Smith and Shelton Wilson, Sr. Darlene graduated from Queen Anne’s County High School, Class of 1993, where she was a cheerleader and a member of the Marching Band. She furthered her education at University of Maryland-College Park. She was a member of the Talbot-Queen Anne Youth Alliance under the leadership of the late Madison Brown. Darlene was always interested in helping people so it was no surprise when she became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She started her career at Corsica Hills Nursing Home in Centreville, MD and later worked at the Anne Arundel Medical Center and various other hospitals and Nursing Homes on the Western Shore of Maryland. Darlene’s favorite color was purple, the same as her mother’s. Living in the same area, Darlene would often visit her mother or call. Whenever she needed anything, she knew her Mommy was just around the corner. Darlene will always be remembered as being a Daddy’s girl. Whenever she was in need of advice or just wanted to hear her father’s voice she would call. Like her father, she was strong-willed and stubborn, and it would take a lot of convincing to get her to see her father’s point of view. The convincing was hard maybe because Darlene was always wanting evidence or proof, like on one of her favorite TV shows, Law & Order. She also loved the Lifetime shows. Darlene loved her family. She was a daughter, sister, mother, aunt and grandmother. Darlene was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. Her uncles, George Smith and Weldon Wilson. An aunt, Diana Smith and a favorite cousin, Danita Smith, and a brother, James Thomas, III. Darlene leaves to cherish her memories, her parents Geraldine Smith and Shelton Wilson, Sr. (Linda). Her siblings Shelton Wilson, Jr. and Lateya Sport. Her children Asia Myers and Lamotte Dennis, Jr. Her grandchildren Londyn Dennis and Hazel Dennis. Uncles Thomas Smith, Jr. (Melissa) and Robert Lee Smith, and an aunt Audrey Green. Her Godfather, Joseph Hynson (Roslyn), her best friend, Kita Sorrell and like a son, Ronald Boyer. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Sorrowfully submitted, The Family
