On Saturday, November 25, 2023, Da’Quan “Man Man” Shykeim Lake life sadly came to a sudden end at the age of twenty-six.
Da’Quan was born April 30, 1997 to Sharhonda and Ernest Lake Jr. in Seaford, DE and raised in Bridgeville where he attended Woodbridge Public Schools. As an adult, Da’Quan was baptized at this Greater Mt. Zion Holiness Church in Bethlehem, MD. “Man Man” as many of us know him as, was well respected amongst his peers. He always greeted you with a smile that would warm your heart.
“Man Man” had a passion for dogs and his music he was creating. Whenever you saw him, you were sure to see a dog close by and hear about his latest music inspiration. His favorite pastime was spending quality time with his family. His love for them all was irreplaceable. The bond between him and his parents was a bond so pure, it made the love for a parent’s first-born child priceless.
Da’Quan was loved by his family and friends just as much as he loved them. He was the proud father of Da’Jour & Jaeour Lake.
In addition to his parents and children, Da’Quan is survived by his two siblings Teija & Ke’Shown Lake, his significant other, Markayla Paige, his two nieces, A’Nyrah & A’Esiah Sykes, his maternal grandfather, Ricky Smith, his paternal grandmother, Margaret Lake, his uncle Ricky Thomas, aunts, Tervonda Harris (Herbert), Shonda Land (Kevin), Shaunte Nichols & Angela Dobson, his god parents, Yolanda Thomas & Tommy Lake, a special great uncle, Barry Baynard and a host of relatives and friends.
Da’Quan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cynthia Thomas & Ernest Lake Sr, and his uncle, Marcus Lake.
Psalms 126:6, NKJV
“He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”
