Edna Consola Johns affectionately known as “Mom” of Trappe, MD was called home on March 11, 2022. Mom was 86 years old.
Consola was born on July 5, 1935 to the late Daisy Roberts and the late Lester Stanton, Sr.
Consola was a woman of many talents. She worked for Myers Catering Services assisting in cooking, serving and cleaning. She was also self-employed as a house and office cleaner, however, of all her jobs, Consola’s passion was caring for children. Over the years mom’s home was always opened to the little ones.
Consola enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, watching her soaps and scary movies. She never missed a chance to ride out with her sister, Vera. Consola also enjoyed cooking for her grandchildren.
Consola leaves to cherish loving memories, two daughters; Judy Johns Freeman (the late Cedric Freeman) and Yvonne Johns Burton, two sons; Harvey Johns Jr. and Jerome Johns (Christa), seventeen grandchildren, Little Barbara Leatherberry, Cortez (Teddy) Leatherberry, Ronald Wilson Jr., Sierra Wilson, LaShenna Johns, My’Keria Elliott, Cedric Freeman Jr., Sha’Nequa Elliott, Jervon Burton, Breona Elliott, Jade Burton, Ja’Quan Johns, Kieri Johns, Spencer Johns, Noel Johns, Joel Johns, Eleanor Johns, 14 great-grandchildren, six sisters; Peggy Martin, Gloria Woolford, Barbara (Dondra) Wongus, Vera Jenkins (Adrian), Linda Walker, Harriet Chase (Robert), two brothers; Clarence Roberts and Lester Stanton Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Consola was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Johns Sr., one brother, Calvin Myers, two step-daughters, Veronica Leatherberry and Barbara Leatherberry, and one great grandson.
