Clyde Gibson Obituary

Clyde Gibson peacefully departed this life to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 4, 2020 after a lengthy illness at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Easton, MD. Clyde Gibson, was the son of the late Beatrice Elsie (Wilson) Gibson and the late James C. Gibson aka "Bootsie" and "J.C". 

Clyde attended schools in the Talbot County public school systems and in 1972, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he received his high school diploma. After serving in the Marines, Clyde continued his dedicated service to his country by enlisting full time in the United States Army and then the Army National Guard. Clyde retired from the military after many years and began to work for various employers, including Parish Food’s in Trappe, MD, Queen Anne's Hot Dog company in Wye Mills, MD, and the Easton Bowling Alley in Easton, MD until his health began to fail. 

Clyde loved music and as a child in church he loved to sing the hymn “There Is No Secret What God Can Do “by Mahalia Jackson. When Clyde was in school he enjoyed entering talent shows. In 1968, he won first place singing the song “The Beginning Of My End”. Clyde continued to show his love for music and was a proud member of the band “The Groove Makers”.


In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Turner and his brother, Wayne Gibson. 

Clyde leaves to cherish his memory four sons; James Gibson of Virgina, Carzon Cummings of Cambridge, MD, Ronald Gibson and Bryan Gibson both of Indiana, three daughters; Adrena Tyler of Oklahoma, Colleen Gibson of Indiana and Clarissa Holley, three sisters; Brenda Brooks of Cambridge, MD, Gloria Gibson of Easton, MD, and Bonita Kelley of Cambridge, MD, one step brother, Bernard Baker of Newark, DE, one brother-in-law Nicholas Turner of Easton, MD, seventeen grandchildren, three nieces Fawn, Claudia, and Alisha, five nephews, Anthony, Nicholas III, Jamie, Gary and George, one aunt, Mary Chase of Cambridge, MD,  his fiance’, Treneice D. Handy, four step daughters; Aishia, Kinya (Julius), Keyonna and Shalanda, all of Easton, MD, special friends; Maurice Dean, Michael Wilson, David King and Frankie Warner and a host of other extended family members and friends.
