Charles Bolden Obituary

CHARLES ELLOT BOLDEN, age 71, departed this life on Tuesday, February16, 2021, at UM Laurel Medical Center, Laurel, Maryland. He was born on March 13, 1949, in Nelson County, VA to Charles Henry Bolden and Mary Frances Bolden.

 

Charles was baptized at the Saint John Baptist Church in Norwood, VA. He received his education in the Nelson County Public School System. After leaving high school, he moved to Washington, DC where he worked in construction. He later moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland where he worked at Allen Family Foods for 19 years and Duvall Brothers Excavating for 26 years.

 

In his spare time, he loved fishing, hunting, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and watching his favorite football team the Washington Redskins. He was a fun loving, kind and generous person. He was always there to lend a helping hand whenever needed.

Charles leaves to cherish his loving memory: his devoted wife of 47 years, MaeCatherine Littlejohn Bolden; one son Eddie Howard of Owing Mills, MD; one daughter Jacqueline Bolden of Charlottesville, VA; two stepdaughters Rosetta Demby of Federalsburg, MD, Tynetta (Stanley) Thompson Smith of Boiling Springs, SC; nine grandchildren he cherished Leslie Howard, Jayden Howard, Morgan Howard, Kareem Bolden, Myleisha Bolden, Jeremy Littlejohn, Ricky Thompson, Jr., Amir Holland, Dwayne Lamont Demby, Jr.; one great grandchild Stoni Thelps.

 

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Henry and Mary Frances Bolden; three brothers Lawrence Bolden, Robert Bolden, Herbert Bolden; one brother-in-law James Littlejohn; one grandson Dwayne Demby, Jr.

 

He also leaves behind three brothers, William Rose (Lillian) of Newport News, VA, James Bolden (Linda) of Woodbridge, VA and Andrew Bolden (Kimberly) of Chico, CA; three sisters, Margaret Woodson (Samuel) of Upper Marlboro, MD, Virginia Harper of Cheverly, MD and Miss Hazel Bolden of Washington, DC; seven sister-in-law’s from South Carolina, Wealthia (Toby) Foote, Wyonnia McKissick, Lula B. Littlejohn, LillieRuth (Johnny) Smith, Shirley (Gonzalee) Browning, Paulette Thompson, Wilma Littlejohn. two brother-in-law’s, William (Bertha) Littlejohn, Montgomery, AL, Johnny Lee (Kathy) Littlejohn; special cousin Keith (Robin) Allen and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends too numerous to name.
