Bruce Alexander Smith

Bruce Alexander Smith was born July 27, 1967, in Dorchester County to the late Mildred Smith and Late Oak Dobson. He departed this life on Friday, June 26, 2023, at Tidal Health in Salisbury, Maryland. The Lord reached out his hand and said Bruce your work is done. He reached out his hand, father I’m ready.

Bruce was educated in the Dorchester County School System. Bruce had many jobs and was employed with Amick Farms for many years before his health began to fail and he had to retire.

Bruce aka Shiloh or Boo Boo, was always happy, easy-going, always had a smile and always singing, whether at work, church, family outings, in his car, you can catch him singing.  He enjoyed life and spending time with his family. His roots were in Bobtown and no matter where you travel in life Bobtown was always home.

Bruce gave his life to Christ and was so devoted to doing the right thing. He encouraged others to jump on board.  His favorite saying if you don’t know him you need to get to know him, because he sure been good to me. His favorite Song “It’s Going to Rain”.

Bruce leaves to cherish his memory, his children, daughter Jocelyn Charnelle Wilson, Berlin, MD, stepchildren James Collins, Michael Deshields, Shana Banks, Jenna Banks, Derika Brooks, and Courtney Brooks, grandson Elijah James, sister Hope Smith, two brothers Joseph “Ricky” Smith and Carlos Smith all of Hurlock, MD, a special nephew Elvis Batson, special niece Felecia Wilcox and special cousin Tish Dobson Dixon. Special family Timothy “Tucker” Smith, Sr., Timothy “Chill” Smith, Sr., Allen Friend, Special Friends Albert Ricks, Leon Dotson, Andre Clarke, Marcus Holland, Alton Ellison, and Edward Lewis. One Aunt Lillie Dobson, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mildred Smith and Oak Dobson, three sisters Diane Smith, Denise Smith, and Ethel Smith, four brothers Robert “Bobby” Smith. Sr., Elvis Smith, Michael Smith and Freddie Smith, Sr.
