Bernice Ann Dickerson Francois also known as “Bernie” was born on December 29, 1950 and was the daughter of the late Perry Henry Dickerson, Sr. and Sarah Ann Dickerson. Bernice departed this life on October 27, 2025 at the University of Maryland Shore Easton Medical Center, Easton, MD.
Bernice received her education from Caroline County Public Schools, graduating from Colonel Richardson High School in 1968. After graduation she attended Cosmetology School in Salisbury, Maryland and later attended Chesapeake College for Computer Technology.
Bernice was employed at Easton Memorial Hospital on the Pediatrics Floor in the early eighties and later retired from Black and Decker in 2002.
Bernice became a member of Mission Hill Apostolic Church in 1980 under the leadership of Bishop John W. Mosley.
Bernice had a love for music, knitting, crocheting and spending time with family and friends. Bernice was dedicated to her family. In every word she spoke it included the love, trust, and the faith she had in God. When she talked about her family it was with great love and affection. Bernice would always say when family got together and talked about old times she would always say, “we have to get together and plan a family reunion.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Perry Henry Dickerson, Jr., nephew, Perry Dickerson, III, and Vernon Fletcher Sr. (husband), and Frantso Francois (husband).
Bernice leaves to cherish her memories; five children, Angela Jolley Simon of Baltimore, MD, Kevin Jackson, Sr. of Cambridge, MD, Veron Fletcher, Jr. of Virginia, Corinthian Fletcher of Easton, MD, and Tremaine Fletcher (Elizabeth) of Easton, MD, two bonus children; Sheraya Weeks-Martin of Laurel, MD and Sherone Lewis of Cambridge, MD, eight grandchildren; Cierra Jolley-Davenport, of Baltimore, MD, Treviar Jolley of Baltimore, MD, Kevin Jackson, Jr. of Alexandria, VA, Jaquan Jackson, of Laurel, MD; Lloyd Simon, III of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Xandar Fletcher, Xy’leaha Fletcher, and Xadrian Fletcher, all of Easton, MD; six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
