Barry Garnett Baynard, born on May 18, 1957, to the late Dorothy Thomas & Noah Baynard Jr. in Talbot County MD. After a short fight to the end, Barry peacefully passed away on November 10, 2024 surround by the people he loved.
Barry’s educational journey was in the Queen Anne County School District in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s. Shortly after school, he began his life journey finding his way in life, marching to the beat of his own drum. Up until Barry became ill, he worked in the asphalt industry. His longest employment until he became sick was with Ben Burris Paving whom always treated him like family.
Barry was the most sweetest guy who would do any and everything for anyone he came in contact with. He was known as everyone’s UNCLE BARRY, related or not! Barry had a heart of gold. One thing he loved the most was EVERYBODY’S CHILDREN! Couldn’t find a babysitter? Call Uncle Barry! Needed ice cream money for the ice cream truck? Go find Uncle Barry! Ya parents yelling at you? HERE COME UNCLE BARRY! Lots of memories will forever live on thru all the ones whose lives he impacted that’s for sure!
Barry is survived by the love of his life, Carla Smith, his two daughters; Shanett Groce & Ambria Smith, five sons; Barry Baynard Jr., Keith Thomas, Damon Smith, Mike Smith & Avain Smith, two sisters; Beverly Baynard King & Patricia Jones, four nieces; Shakia Griffin (Damien), Takiesha Baynard, Latisha Batts & Shante King, one nephew; Jerome King (Trina), 15 grandkids, 7 great nieces, 13 great nephews, a special niece, Moniesha Baynard and a host of friends & family whom he loved dearly.
Preceding Barry in death and meeting him in his afterlife included his maternal grandmother, Louise Thomas who he loved with all his heart, his parents, Dorothy & Noah Baynard, all of his maternal aunts and uncles, along with several family members who have fallen before him.
