Barbara V. Cook was born November 15, 1944 to the late Vernon Cook and Phyllis Robinson in Brooklyn, NY. Barbara is the third child of seven.
Barbara graduated from Jason High School and retired from “The Hotel Dupont” as the head seamstress.
In her last days she took time to accept the Lord into her life to make heaven her home. She left here singing “Every Praise”!
Barbara’s life’s mission was to take care of her only child, best friend, and confidant, Ronnie Cook of Wilmington, DE. Although she had one child, she has four grandchildren, Kevin Chambers, Khilil Cook, Briana Cook of Wilmington, DE and Imani Kelly of Suffolk, Virginia. She is also survived by five sisters, Arnita Bacon and Gladys Brooks (Razac Disu), both of Bridgeville, DE, Vera Salters of Philadelphia, PA, and Carol Kellam (Bill) and Theresa Cook, both of Seaford, DE; brother, Alvin Cook (Yuvette) of Waldorf, MD, several nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as her special friends, Toni Winchester, Shirley Barr, and “Emily”.
Barbara will be greatly missed.
