Andrew Lee Saunders was born on May 24, 1950. He passed away at the age of 69 on March 10, 2020. He was one of eight children born to the late Spencer Saunders and Alma Saunders (Jackson).
Andrew was born in Hartford County and at a young age his family moved to Baltimore City where he was educated in Baltimore City School System. He worked for Baltimore Washington Medical Center (Formerly North Arundel Hospital) for 12 years before starting his own Property Management business until he retired in 2009.
“Andy” as he was affectingly known, loved fishing, football, and watching westerns, not to mention some good music. He was meticulous with his style, and always liked to look sharp. In his youth he was well known as someone who was “wild and reckless” to put it mildly. But as he matured he changed his life around and became a hard worker, a provider, and a wonderful husband to his wife. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He would light up whenever he would see them, even through his pain. In his final days, he was able to ask God for forgiveness of his sins and accept the Lord as his Personal Savior.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Darlene Saunders (Cephas), daughters , Antoinette (Tina) Saunders, Yolanda Harris ( Darrell ), and Laurie Maxwell (Brian). Siblings: Spencer Saunders (Sheila); James Saunders; Caroline Jones; William (Bill”) Saunders; Eugene Saunders; Debbie Lawson (Walter); Charles Eddie Saunders (Peggy). Grandchildren, Marquisee Saunders, Breianna Askins, Breonna Harris, Darrell Harris Jr. and Shaunice Harris (deceased). 3 great-grandchildren: Marquisee Saunders Jr, Zion Washington, and Zionna Washington and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
