Allen Mapp, Sr Obituary

Our beloved one, Allen E. Mapp Sr. was summoned to eternal rest on February 23, 2023 at his home.

Allen was born on November 6, 1940 in Hurlock, MD to the late Roselee and the late Ralph Mapp.  He was raised by his grandmother, Miss Goodman in Exmore, VA.  He attended school and graduated from the Maryland school district. After graduating, he decided to further his education and enrolled in college, where he played many sports. He was very ambitious and believed in serving his country, so he decided to enlist in the United States Army in 1966.

Allen attended Triumph Baptist Church with his wife until the pandemic. When his health began to fail he and his wife would stay at home and pray on the phone.

Allen loved watching sports especially football and basketball. He also had a ball looking at game shows with his mother-in-law. He enjoyed going swimming at the YMCA, having his youngest sister-in-law over, and going to visit his 92 year old dear friend, Jean Miller, who often gave him great advice.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother that raised him, a dear friend, Mary Catherine Robinson, who was like his first wife and helped him with his two youngest children and raised them as if they were hers.

Allen is survived by his wife, Evita Roberts-Mapp, two stepchildren; Montez Harrigan and Travis Cephas, step granddaughter, Nilah Harrigan, five boys, Anthony, Wayne Mapp (Debbie), Big Allen, Tromar, Little Allen Jr.,Thorton Parker (Clementine), and approximately 14 grand-children, special niece, Kathy Parker, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
