Edna Thomas unexpectedly passed from this life on July 15, 2019, she was 69. Born on December 31, 1949, Edna was the second of five children to the late Walter Albert and Estella (Copper) Thomas. When her mother died at a young age, Edna and her siblings were placed in the care of her grandmother, Lola Copper. And when her grandmother died just a few years later, Edna went on to raise her younger siblings.

She attended Talbot County Public Schools. From there Edna held various jobs and when she could no longer work, she took on a passion for babysitting. She spent her remaining years of life devoted to providing care to her family, friends, and community.

She was lovingly known to be the ‘master cook’ amongst those who knew and loved her. She called it a “game” as cooking had become second nature; often being called upon to provide food for various events and affairs. She was always happy to help out in anyway she could, but would somehow forget to return your call when asked for a recipe. Edna was an extremely giving and kind-hearted person. She graciously opened her home to anyone in need even if all she could offer was a hot meal and heat from that old wood stove that would leave you wishing you’d just slept out in the snow. She was also affectionately known for her gut-busting laughs that would leave even the clergy in tears and her schedule-rearranging conversations and stories. Edna was a devout life-long member of her family church, Mt. Pisgah which she served faithfully until its’ closure. Edna continued her close fulfilling and unwavering relationship with her Lord and Savior until her last breathe.

Edna was preceded in death by her first born, David Terrell Thomas; 2 brothers, Peter Brice and Richard Thomas, 2 sisters, Christine Thomas and Tina Carter.

She leaves to cherish many fond memories: a daughter Trinetta I. Thomas, a son LeVar A. Thomas (Mieassa) both of Easton, MD; a special nephew/son Reginald Thomas (Angela); 2 special nieces/daughters Donsha Thomas (Andre) and Victoria Spencer (Charles); 2 sisters, Diane Ross of Forestville, MD and Roxie A. Thomas of Easton, MD; 3 grandchildren; Ty’Asia Groce, Jalen Greene-Thomas, and Jordyn Thomas of Easton, M.D.; 1 great-grandson Zaiden M. Groce, and a soon-to-be great-granddaughter expected to arrive in August 2019; a dear friend and confidant (Harriett Clayton) of Williamsburg, M.D.; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and beloved church family.
